Volvo 1800 ES

 So long Avanti.  Hello Volvo.

We parked next to one of these rare beauties last night. omg...it's my new favorite ride.

The Volvo 1800ES (the “ES” stood for “Estate,” Brit-speak for station wagon) was Volvo’s creative attempt to wring a little bit more life out of an aging design. It was produced for just two model years, 1972 and 1973.

Naïve

Modernism and Folklore in Contemporary Graphic Design. Naïve documents the extraordinary renaissance of Classic Modernism, from the 1940s to 1960s, in contemporary graphic design.
I guess this book came out last year, but I just spotted it on Amazon while shopping. Not sure how I missed it. I love the graphics!

DARK 12-25

Initially the ’12-25’ is a lamp for walls and ceilings, which can rotate via a built-in magnet to all directions. This way the lamp can even rotate 360° (an absolute world premiere) you can light every corner in a room, each time from a different angle. The ’12-25’ is standard available in glossy white, glossy black and chrome and on request in all RAL colors.~architonic

Job 12:25 -Then Job answered and said....They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.
Interesting how they came up with the name of this light. I'm assuming this is where it came from.

1278 Angelo Dr.

My good friend Stuart Herman of Herman Construction (whom I've had the pleasure of working with before) sent the link to this house he just completed...
Dazzling ground-up new construction by renowned architectural firm of Shortridge and Associates, AIA. This ultra-sophisticated home exquisitely showcases the use of brick, walnut, and concrete walls and floors. Soaring Ceilings and frame-less glass windows and doors allow for unobstructed panoramic views of Los Angeles....zillow listing
Check it out here.
Nice work Stuart!
