Darcel Disappoints

I just finished reading an interview with Craig Redman on JUXTAPOZ online magazine and was intrigued by his illustrations, sculptures, and designs. Redman is one out of a 5 person collective known as Rinzen. The Australian born artist living in New York has a very cool blog that documents his thoughts and activities thru his witty illustrations.
Check it out....Darcel Disappoints

Their Happening

Today's post is on great designed ice cream trucks. "Own Your C" is a traveling advice center for teens serving Popsicles, London's "Scoop" truck has won CPB's "Blue Sky's Competiton" and the Coolhaus truck (spotted at FreakCity yesterday) serves up ice cream sandwiches inspired by famous architects. Follow Coolhaus on Twitter to find out where there next "happening" will be!

For Lil Rawkr

You might be thinking I'm posting this because Halloween is coming up, but I'd get this sippy cup for my little guy regardless!

Muy Bien

I have always wanted to go to Mexico City, but I have yet to make it there. After seeing hotel Distrito Capital images on bltd, I've put it high on my list of priorities of places to go. I'm so feeling the black, white & gray interiors by Parisian designer Joseph Dirand. L O V E>

PLINC

I love the clean, sharp graphic quality of these PLINC and Marilyn Neuhart prints from House Industries by David Dodde. Each one is hand printed and numbered.

Pirate Pumpkin

Sorry...been lagging on my posts lately. Bad weather around here had the power out for 15 hrs. the other day with no internet service and now I'm busy working on a presentation for a big job. Found the aaarrr studios logo @ The Happy Corp in NY and thought it was great idea to carve into my pumpkin! Yes, its trademarked, but I don't think they will mind if I use it. ~via This Ain’t No Disco

Where The Wild Things Are

I'm really looking forward to seeing "Where the Wild Things Are" directed by Spike Jonze. There really is a frenzy on all "Things" related to the movie. Here are just a few: Cipria Sofa designed by Fernando and Humberto Campana over at TMagazine and Limited Edtion Skate Decks by Girl Skateboards spotted at Colette Paris.
Ok, maybe the sofa wasn't designed with the movie in mind, but it sure looks like it was.

Stingray

I've passed by this rocker over at Huset several times before and it always stops me in my tracks.
Fredericia Stingray Rocker by Thomas Pedersen is pretty cool if you ask me.

APC or IKEA

Is it just me or does the PS Spraka Pepper Mill from Ikea look like a stretched-out version and a whole song longer than the hand carved wood bottle for APC scent, Sustain (scroll a few posts down)? Well, I'd still buy it...comes in black too. ~via remodelista

Rickey Owens

How excited am I to see that one of my favorite clothing designers, Rick Owens, delving into furniture design. Raw edged and crude shapes define his Limited Editon collection that he only sells thru art galleries. Dope.

the BeAst Is BAck

Spotted on Grain Edit, LA designer/artist Christopher Lee's "Crazy for Cult" poster he created for Gallery 1988. I'm a sucker for the sixties-ish quality of the characters and the bangin' color combo.
