I just finished telling my husband about the idea behind this fragrance and he thought I should share on my blog.
A.P.C. designer Jean Toitou and M/M (Paris) created the hand carved wood box which is meant to resemble the waves on a computer screen that a 12-string guitar makes when playing the opening chord of the Kinks’ “Waterloo Sunset.” Along with perfumer Haley Alexander Van Oosten, Toitou created the 12 essential oils scent to smell like the inside of a guitar case strewn with rose petals. “The perception of the smell of a guitar case —lined in bright velvet— in which rose petals would have been scattered.” With notes of wood, resin and rose.... Mmmmm....I can smell it now. In fact, I can hear now also!

Beautiful African inspired pieces from Moroso. The Shadowy chair lounger by Tord Boontje and Stephen Burks’s pouffes both use a hand-weaving technique employing plastic threads. Stunning tradtional Afrcian prints are used for the Do-lo-rez cubes by Ron Arad. Find out more about the projects centered around Africa featured at Moroso’s Milan showroom in Via Pontaccio. Love.

I'm on Twitter and right now and I really only follow a handful of people. One of them happens to be Designer, Paul Smith...love his style. Yesterday he announced that he designed a limited edition Evian bottle that will be sold until Christams. Digg it! ....ok, Drink it!.....ok, Display it! Whatever.

I've had a pretty busy week so I've missed a few posts (sorry if you've noticed). We celebrated my birthday and I'm pretty excited because one of the gifts I received was this Pete Fowler signed screen print. I've wanted it for a while now and can't wait to get it framed and up in my little guy's room.

Maybe being a former Fashion Designer is why this piece of art @ Douglas Coupland's home in Vancouver really caught my eye. The author of "Generation X," Microserfs" and the upcoming novel "Generation A," Mr. Coupland created this piece as a nod to Damien Hirst. Cool ~ via nytimes

I received an email today from The Conran Shop in NYC indicating they are having a 20% off USM Haller. I wouldn't normally bring it up on this blog, but I have to tell you I have always loved Haller Modular Systems and have wanted a USM Haller bookcase in my office for a long time now. The chrome plated tube framework and powder coated metal panel designs are so timeless that the furniture is part of the permanent design collection at The Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Since a Haller bookcase might be a bit out of price range for most, I was pretty into discovering a blog all about bookcases and the likes @ booksathome. You'll find a pretty vast collection of bookcases in all price ranges and from all eras. Seems Erik @ booksathome is developing a highly flexible, inexpensive bookshelf system offered through his blog . Excited to see what he comes up with.
