City Juice Dunny

You know where I'm gonna be on Aug. 8th? At kidrobot in LA to check out ilovedust in person and get my 20" City Juice Dunny on!

When in Austin, check into Hotel SAINT CECILIA. Named after the patron saint of music and potery, the compound offers 5 suites, 6 poolside bungalows and 3 studios (and bean bags around the pool to lounge on!). Go view their cool indie movie vibe website to find out more: HotelStCecilia.com

Money in the Bank

I'm all into positive thinking and affirmations. Finding these vintage money bag cushions on Esty, I'm thinking they could just do the trick. They certainly look better than hand written post-it notes stuck to the bathroom mirror.

Love Invisible

How cool is this installation by Neasden Control Centre at the Helium Cowboy Gallery in Germany? This multidisciplined studio out of London has some interesting projects worth viewing.

Handyman Required

"Droog - Highchair. This chair is a companion through childhood, as the child grows the chair diminishes. The notches on the legs indicate each stage of the chair. So when you feel it is time, you can saw off what is not needed any more."
Hmmmm, ok... but I don't own a saw?

No Stainless Steel

So, our refrigerator burnt itself out and I've been on the hunt for a new one. My head is swimming with model #'s, specs and consumer reviews. All the frig's come in stainless steel now. They might look cool, (even though I think the stainless look is burning itself out) but they have some downfalls. Number one is they show fingerprints easily (bad, if you have kids) and number two is you can't use magnets on them. Love this image found at MARFA trip. Go check them out. I really need to have me some magnets!

I've been procrastinating, but I need more seating outside on my newly re-finished deck. The classic Hardoy Butterfly Chair has been around since 1938 and still looks good in any style environment. I'm ordering now from Circa50. Done!

After seeing this teepee in Domino's style director, Dara Caponigro's apartment (via Remodelista), I knew I just had to get one for my little guy. Can't wait till it's here. I'm gonna bust it out right in the living room.

Pony Ride

Ok, you could say I'm on a bit of a Scandinavian trip right now after doing some research on a Bjorn Wiinbald print I bought at the Pasadena Swap Meet a several years ago. Of course I would run into Eero Aarnio along the way. Known for the popular Bubble and Ball Chairs among many others, it's funny to learn that he created the Pony Chair not for children, but for adults.

Designed in 1973? Looks like it could had been designed today.
Hmmm, I can see Munny riding it.

Alexander Girard is one of my favorite artist/designers and I'm in L-O-V-E with his 72 piece Memory Game. Made of basswood and printed with non-toxic inks, House Industries has made it available to purchase online. The folky graphic images and amazing color combinations were originally designed for Herman Miller's Action Office plan.

Earth Friendly

I think this might be the cutest mobile I've
found to date. Designed by petitcollage, the
pieces are laser-cut from sustainably harvested
bamboo plywood.

I absolutely love the cover art on the current
issue of Clutter Magazine. It is stunning!
Check out what else the team at ilovedust has done.

By You!

I'm really into some of the Kid Robot toys, like
the Do-It-Yourself Munny. I want this 18" behemoth
Mega Munny for Jonah's room.
Gotta see the artist designed gallery.

Just Chillin

Not everything has to be "modern" in design to be cool. I'm
definitely feeling the bohemian vibe of the
Surf Lodge Hotel in Montauk, New York.
Designer/Co-Owner, Robert McKinley was inspired by
exotic surf/travel locales of Morocco, Costa Rica or Hawaii
and surfing movies of the 60's and 70's. I can envision
myself sitting on the deck, drinking a Tecate at sunset while
The Stones play in the background. Heaven.

Ok, so I'm playing a little "catch up" here. I found this in Los Angeles Times Magazine last July 08 (I was very preggers at the time). Designed by architect Steven Ehrlich, this 23-foot-long steel and CaesarStone plinth is so cool looking. It serves as the cooktop, bar, buffet and dining table. Love.

Dig It

I've been working on our backyard, getting it kiddie ready for Jonah; I had the wood deck sanded and re-finished, a pool safety net installed and a bucket seat swing I ordered from Amazon waiting in the box for me to hang.
Since our backyard is ALL deck, I thought this sandbox on caster wheels I saw at Cookie Mag would be perfect for Jonah. He would totally dig on it (ok, Dig In It).
